Autism is a serious neurodevelopmental disorder that causes the child's disability to communicate and interact with others,  with significant difficulties in Social Interaction,  Verbal & Non-Verbal Communication and Repetitive Behaviors.
WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY: APRIL 2

April 2nd is the World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD), declared by the United Nations General Assembly resolution "62/139" in 2007 as an annual day to take measures to raise Awareness about people with Autism throughout the World.

The WAAD observance is organized by the United Nations Department of Public Information and Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
The 2017 United Nations Theme is: "Toward Autonomy and Self-Determination"

 LIGHT IT UP BLUE International Campaign

The 'Light it up blue' for Autism annual campaign was launched in 2010 by 'Autism Speaks', the largest Autism Organization in the World, along with the international autism community in recognition of UN sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day and April, as World Autism Month in order to commemorate persons with autism and their families.

Thousands of iconic landmarks and buildings join the hundreds of thousands of homes and communities around the world to “light in blue” in support of people living with autism.

Autism-friendly events and educational activities take place during April in Lebanon and around the World to increase understanding and acceptance and further support people with autism.

'LIGHT IT UP BLUE' IN LEBANON for AUTISM AWARENESS

AAA joined the International LIUB Campaign to raise Autism Awareness and organized several activities, such as LIUB across Lebanon, Wear it Blue for Autism, and several Conferences at Schools, Universities and Hotels.

MTV Lebanon went blue on the occasion of World Autism Day, April 2nd, 2018 to raise Autism Awareness with the cooperation of AAA - Autism Awareness Association Lebanon in the presence of Minister of Social Affairs HE Pierre BouAssi بيار بوعاصي .

This event was sponsored by the generosity of Mr Roger Bakhos and his team.

The Scouts du Liban et Guides du Liban, will be raising Autism Awareness at the Freres Maristes of Jbeil on the 6th, 7th & 8th of April, "Dalton City Festival"

On the 7th of April, there will be a special event in the evening, for children with Autism in the afternoon and lighting in blue at their "Who's got talent" event.

AUB LIUB - Psychology Students Society and Mental Health Awareness Club

Light it up Blue for Autism in Lebanon - April 2, 2017
Light it up blue Autism

On the eve of World Autism Day, Our Lady of Lebanon at Harissa Sanctuary went blue for the second year, by the Autism Awareness Association AAA, as a sign of support to the Int’l Autism Awareness campaign, stressing on the importance of inclusion in the society and the importance of early diagnosis and intervention as well as family support.

'LIGHT IT UP BLUE' IN LEBANON 2016

On the eve of April 2016, AAA launched the largest Autism Awareness campaign in Lebanon by participating at the 'Light it up Blue' for Autism campaign across Lebanon and lighting in blue several major ancient monuments, from the South to the North of Lebanon.

For the first time in Lebanon, The Citadels of Saida, Byblos & Tripoli and Our Lady of Lebanon Sanctuary, Harissa went blue by AAA, to spread Autism Awareness in Lebanon, along with several Lebanese monuments: Safadi Cultural Center, Rashid Karame Int'l Fair, Chateau Rweiss and Jeita Country Club.
