بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للتوحد تمت الإضاءة بالازرق قلعة صيدا البحرية بحضور رئيس بلدية صيدا السيد المهندس محمد السعودي و السيدة عربية كلش رئيسة لجنة النشاطات في بلدية صيدا ورئيسة مؤسسة المؤاساة مع عدد من التلاميذ، و بحضور رئيسة وأعضاء من جمعية الأهل لدعم التوحد في لبنان الجمعية وحشد من اللأصدقاء. بهذه المناسبة تشكر الجمعية تعاون بلدية صيدا وحضور رئيسها للإضاءة ونشر التوعية عن التوحد الذي أصبح يصيب 1 من 68 ولد، مذكرين بضرورة التشخيص والتدخل المبكر للمساعدة بتحسن الحالة.
On the eve of World Autism Month, Saida Sea Castle was majestically shining in blue in support of the international "Light It Up Blue" campaign to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Awareness Month with the presence of Saida President of Municipality with several members and the presence of Al-Moasat Association President and students, and lots of friends.
AAA is proud to join the light up Blue International Campaign, by lighting in Blue Saida sea castle, an ancient landmark built in the 13th century, as a sign of support, in raising #Autism #Awareness in #Lebanon, from March 31st until April 2nd.
The city of Sidon is located on the Mediterranean coast of Lebanon. This ancient Phoenician city has been of great religious, political and commercial value; it is said to be inhabited since 4000 B.C. During the 13th century, the Crusaders built Sidon's Sea Castle as a fortress on a small island connected to the mainland by a narrow 80m long roadway. The island was formerly the site of a temple to Melqart, the Phoenician version of Heracles. The beauty of the Castle can be seen in old illustrations of it; however, after bearing several wars, it has been damaged and renovated several times. It was partially destroyed by the Mamluks when they took over the city from the Crusaders, but they subsequently rebuilt it and added the long causeway. The castle later fell into disuse, but was again restored in the 17th century by Emir Fakhreddine II, only to suffer great damage. Source: Wikipedia
One in 68 children is diagnosed with Autism, making it over 70 million people having Autism in the World, with more than 90% of Adults with Autism as unemployed or underemployed.
Autism Awareness Association’s mission is to provide information and support for families of people on the Autism Spectrum Disorder by creating the first free ONLINE AUTISM RESOURCE DIRECTORY IN LEBANON; We will seek to directly help parents by providing information and referral to therapeutic services, inclusion and information across Lebanon.
The Autism Awareness Association started offering assessment and therapy sessions. Places are limited.
Meanwhile, AAA is holding parents gathering groups to bring families together and give them a sign of solidarity
and support.
